Obertauern ignites “Fireworks of Endorphins” to kick off the ski season

Andreas Bourani live at the Ski Opening Concert on 02/12 in Obertauern

Winter sports enthusiasts can start getting excited: On November 22nd 2017, the ski lifts will be up and running again in Obertauern, Austria’s snowiest winter sports destination. As in every year, the ski season in Obertauern is kicked off with a grand celebration: The lyrics of German pop artist Andreas Bourani’s song ‘Auf Uns’ (‘Here’s To Us’) express exactly what ski fans are feeling, that are desperately longing to make their first turns in a fluffy sea of white crystals: ‘Here’s to what lies ahead for us, that it may hold the best for us!’. His live act at the legendary ski opening concert on December 2nd 2017 in Obertauern will mark the highlight of events in which the hotspot for winter sports near Salzburg celebrates the start of the winter season.

Andreas Bourani, known for example from his TV appearances as coach in the casting show “The Voice of Germany”, aims straight for the hearts of his fans with the life-affirming messages of his songs. The audience at the ski opening concert is guaranteed to be cheering and chiming in with the songs of his live album ‘Hey’. ‘All my senses are vibrating, absorbing the entire universe around me’ – a feeling all winter sports enthusiasts are familiar with, eager to finally lay their tracks in the first snow of the year in Obertauern as early as November.

The following weekend Obertauern is ruled by the traditional Krampus Parade and the Ö3-Krampusparty on December 9th 2017. An eerie crowd of almost 500 masked Krampuses start their procession over the top of the pass, starting at 8:30 PM. The traditional spooky parade takes its cues from the Alpine legend of Saint Nicholas and his companion, Krampus. The most artistic and creative masks will be rewarded. Following the award ceremony on the Ö3 stage, the ultimate Ö3 Disco will take off.

Tickets are available at the Obertauern tourist office and at Admission to the Krampus Parade and the Ö3 Krampusparty are free of charge.
